About Me
Cynthia Goforth
Hi! I'm Cynthia Goforth, a high school mathematics teacher passionate about making algebraic and analytical thinking accessible to every student. After several years teaching Algebra 2, I'm transitioning into AP Precalculus for the 2026–2027 school year.
My approach focuses on conceptual understanding paired with careful technique — especially the precision skills that students need for the AP exam, like rounding to three decimal places and writing complete justifications using clear sentence stems.
This site is both a portfolio of my work and a living archive of curriculum, worksheets, and notes for my students.
Teaching Philosophy
Standards-Aligned
Every lesson, problem, and extension ties back to the TEKS for Algebra 2 and the College Board CED for AP Precalculus. Nothing is taught in a vacuum.
AP-Style Precision
Students practice rounding decimal answers to three places and using consistent sentence stems for justification, so that AP-style reasoning becomes second nature.
Conceptual + Procedural
Strong procedures stick when they sit on top of strong concepts. We build both at the same time — with multiple representations, real applications, and meaningful practice.
